Wowwy Wow wow wow, this changes the whole argument that any human being whether pro-life or pro-death via premature murder by use of coat hanger or surgical equivalent might have about when life begins. As was said before, I am not moved by the wisdom of men. Martin Luther was so bold at one time to say (I paraphrase) "Upon Scripture I stand, I can do no other. And here we see God plainly saying since before the dawn of creation, before the creation of time He has known us. Not only has He known us but He insists that He will take care of us and reminds us that we, who are God's, have nothing to fear. Gotta love that sweet, sweet Gospel baby! So eat your heart out Nebraska, have a ball New York, continue to think that your decrees and laws hold water and lay your sweet legislative heads down to bed here in your "heaven on earth"; but in the mean time please understand that your power too is a gift, given to you by the One and the Only, please refrain from squandering your gifts and by all means stand tall and firm. Sure I know it's much more comfy to receive the praise of a few now but I fear for your eternal days not your approval numbers in November.

When does life begin?
Recently news broke about a Philadelphia abortion doctor who, with his staff, was arrested and charged with eight counts of murder. It seems as if this man thought it would be easy to make a quick million bucks (His salary for 2009) doing slip-shod abortions in a dingy, dirty and disgusting "doctor's office".
The story is graphic and I would not suggest you spend much time reading about what this man did for it will turn your stomach in knots. But is what he did with scissors and scalpels any different than what any "reputable abortion doctor" would do in their everyday work. Does it make a difference if the baby is out of the mother's tummy or inside? In Pennsylvania I guess it does. To be as generous as possible here it must be said that other more "civil" states in the Union don't allow the willful killing (of whatever the law calls little baby human beings) after a certain gestational period, how civil and humane they are, I jest. When does life begin? Sure, you might say it depends on what state you live in but I'm not terribly interested in what each state determines as viable human life.
As near as I can tell, Genesis 1 doesn't say; In the beginning Nebraska created light. Nor have I ever read; on the sixth day New York formed man out of the dust of the ground. What I do read is stuff like this little gem from Jeremiah's little ditty (1:5). Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, [and] I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I [am] a child. But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I [am] a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces: for I [am] with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
Walking Gorilla!
It seems as if the "evolutionary process" continues in a Kent Zoo. Yup, Ambam the Gorilla seems almost poised to walk himself to the supermarket, his girlfriends house and perhaps even church, that is if he makes the decision to do so :(.
What is it about these "feel good stories" that strikes such interest in us human beings? Is it the thought that we are so closely connected to these viscous animals who would kill as and eat us for dinner if they had the chance? Do stories like this solidify our "understanding" of the "evolutionary process" so much that we are compelled to think "Gee, Ambam is really making progress, soon his little baby gorilla children will be prancing down to the DMV to get their driver's license?
What a joke, for what its worth, these stories depress the hell out of me, especially in the face of 1% proficiency in the sciences (new press release via jay Leno on Thursday night). But I guess it all makes sense, perhaps this little fact, our deficiency in science, has lead people to a general misunderstanding of the order of creation. I was under the impression that God created us humans as the most intelligent beings so that we may have dominion over animals like Ambam, but alas I am resigned to the possibility of Ambam and other animals like him joining self-esteem boosting classes soon so that they may be able to cope with their inability to truly be human beings. What a world we live in; glorious and majestic, created just for us to have dominion over and be faithful stewards of; we sure pooped that down our legs; now we'd just like to hide our irresponsibility under the guise of "giving everyone else a shot" tolerance sucks! We've shirked the gift and replaced it with an equal opportunity format for boys, girls, men, women, gorillas, goldfish and geese. Lord have mercy.
